Ahlers and Hayward are doing the national radio call for the Bruins/Leafs game. For as much as people don't like our TV guys (including a lot of our own fans), they have a good rep around the league because they get national gigs pretty regularly when extra announcers are needed.
I thought it was just a reward for having to watch all 82 ducks games

Goodness, does Ahlers have a clue who any of those guys are? He sure struggles identifying Ducks.

That’s a Ducks-level meltdown from the Islanders, wow. Going home down 0-2 is going to be gutting since I think they’ve been the better team for at least 4 of the 6 periods

If Ahlers could get over his constant misidentification of players, he'd be a 5-10 PBP guy in the league. He's excellent when it comes to the technical side of announcing.
