I don't have any problem with people liking or disliking Dubas but yeah I mean... it's pretty obvious that he gets the attention he does because he was pegged as this like... bespectacled Wonder Boy who was going to swoop in and save the sport's biggest and most rabid market. It isn't even really his fault or anything... his resume and actual results are so middle-of-the-road that it's pretty obvious that THAT isn't the cause of his notoriety.

As was said above... if he were some dumpy pushin' 60 former player who never worked in Toronto nobody would even care.

Dubas is just your average GM. Not deserving of scathing hate, or praise. He's a whatever dude who people hone in on for some reason because he started his NHL career in Toronto.

If he was Arizona's GM for years before becoming like Nashville's, nobody'd give a f***.

I mean I think any GM who took one of the brightest core's in the league and got a single playoff win out of it in 5 years would be rightfully criticized.

I barely give a shit about what Dubas is doing in this "we can't fully tank cuz Sid's still playing" era of Penguins hockey. I absolutely don't give a shit about what happened in Toronto.

Well it’s pretty obvious that core wasnt going to do anything with him at the helm either.

Yes. Leafs fans has been lamenting that fact during these playoffs. But IIRC Hyman wasn’t nearly this good with the Leafs so I feel there’s some revisionist history going on with that.

Lucky/good Skinner in net means bad for Dallas. Stars played strong P1. Drai's shot was gorgeous.

Oilers just a step faster. They don't get baited. Have a ton of depth. And can play to win 2 to 1.

Huge difference between this team and the teams that resulted in their loser can't play defense rep.

Barely any OT and so many teams just rolling over. This format is trash and the league is just run so bad. Also even the announcer kinda suck

Last years playoffs were great. This year has been a total dud besides the end of the first round and the humour of the Leafs. Sucks.

In hindsight, Dallas really barely got by Colorado and Winnipeg and both times they didn't really outplay either team 5 on 5. They're powerplay merchants at this point.

The real question about who has the edge in the finals is who was the weaker of Carolina and Dallas. Hard to tell if Florida and Edmonton are that good or if it is more that their competition is that bad.

Sean Mcdonough is absolutely horrible and I can't believe they keep letting him do conference finals/SCF games. He's slow and always behind the play and his voice sucks the emotion out of everything. He's just awful.
