GDT: Around the NHL - Playoff Edition

Svechnikov has one (1) SOG through three games of the series so far.

I don't even think Florida looks their best. I think the Canes just have the mental fortitude everyone thinks (agrees?) the Leafs have. Totally deflated. Checked out. Just waiting for the axe to fall at this point.

For some reason people think Svech will return huge in a trade this summer.

Dude is so lame.

I consider them even in Conn Smythes, since Couture should have won in 2016.
He had 30 points. Sid only had 19.

Just a case of biased voting for the winning team and face of the league.
There's no way he was more valuable.
Lol. That's great that he got some points in the PP, but you're making a ridiculous assertion. Watching them play there was no comparison.

Looks like Berube is getting the Sullivan treatment by Leafs ownership. Despite having not even done anything. That organization can't stay out of it's own way.
He’s been their coach for a season and honestly he wasn’t exactly given some smart choices by a dipshit Gm.

Hard to control the fact that they blew their wad adding a ton of defense depth and no goalie depth and no help for depth scoring. I think in this case it’s just not as easy to say it’s the same situation at all. Sullivan had so many incidents where it was just purposely turning a blind eye to his shit. Whereas in Berube’s case for his first season, his Gm didn’t do him any favours. Sullivan forced moves because he was an ignorant f***wit.

He’s 25 and he’s never really turned into that franchise player they thought he would be. Some team might over pay for him but I wouldn’t say his value is all that high as well.

Personally I would have traded his ass over Necas and yeah I am biased because I have always liked Necas. But Svechnikov is overrated on the Canes. He’s probably a player that will get better elsewhere but the Canes probably don’t have the sack to trade him.

Tulsky has to make up the f***up for the Rantanen situation and if he decides to move Svech, I’d try to send his ass to Anaheim for McTavish, Gibson, and Zegras. Dump Svech and Andersen if he waives for them.

How does a team lose 15 straight ECF games? That is amazing. You would think they would win one by accident.
This is the same league that kept thinking Sullivan was an elite coach after not winning a playoff series in 7 seasons and in 3 of those, not even making the playoffs.

One thing that catches my eye - yes, size. All of Florida's guys are big. Barkov, Tkachuk, Bennett, Verhaeghe, Reinhart.. Jones, Ekblad.. look at the Canes guys. Aho, Jarvis, Stankhoven, Ghost. Oilers have size too. Obviously these are all good hockey players and that matters.

Bennett and Verhaeghe aren’t big but they, especially Bennett, play big
