GDT: Around the NHL - Playoff Edition

If I’m Rod I tell the team to ease up on the forecheck. They’re never going to beat them that way. Be patient, wait for Fla mistakes and go the other way. Use your speed effectively instead of expending crazy energy and hardly ever getting a decent chance.

Take him for what? Oh for being best overall? I mean sure if he adds more cups and conn smythe on top of same point totals.
I consider them even in Conn Smythes, since Couture should have won in 2016.
He had 30 points. Sid only had 19.

Just a case of biased voting for the winning team and face of the league.
There's no way he was more valuable.

There was no bias for Crosby over Coutoure. You gotta basically have a GOAT playoff performance to win the Smythe as a skater on the losing team. Which is why McDavid was only the 2nd skater EVER to do it. Now, Sid over Kessel? That you could argue was bias

Any team employing Mark Jankowski deserves to lose. Dude is butt
One of these years, he's going to justify his first round selection.

Announcing team bravely blathering why the Canes have a chance. They still don't look much different than the crap they looked like in the first two games.

Dude has carved out a career by being 6'4" and 220 lbs.

Yep Panthers back to back and it's not even going to be close. The Oilers are in for a rude awakening after their sleep walk through the west.
That will be the strong consensus.

That was also the consensus when the Pens played the Sharks in the finals. Defense wins championships.

How did that go?

The Panthers are way better than the 2016 Sharks. If anything the team playing like the Pens that year is the Panthers. Pens were also better defensively than the Sharks, people just hadn’t caught on

Yeah I never bought that the Sharks were a better team in any way. Thought the series was never even close despite taking six games. Nashville sure, they were the better team. Unfortunately for them Rinne had meltdowns in one too many games.

What do you ever do if you're the Canes. Consistently getting far in the playoffs but younger curb stomped in the conference finals. Require the biggest player on the market two years in a row and both don't wanna be there. Rough

And that in itself is what's ridiculous. It's so clear who was the better player that playoffs.
Just give the award to the best player of the playoffs, win or lose. Stop giving out individual awards based on team results lol.
