Dallas sucks if Rantanen isn’t scoring 4 points a game. Apart from that 5 game stretch they’ve been like .350 dating back to April.

I've never had an issue with McDavid as a player. My issue has always been with this idea that you can look at McDavid's raw totals and look at Sid's raw totals and make a conclusion about who was better at their peak without factoring in McDavid getting to play regularly with Draisaitl while Sid's wingers during the Cup runs were some combination of old Guerin, Kunitz, Sheary and Hornqvist.

Quality of linemate is going to have an impact on production, and so my issue was with people dismissing that to point out "lower point totals" for Sid.

I suggest just enjoying one of the best players to put on skates, instead of constantly worrying about him diminishing Sid somehow.
He's already 28. His prime will be gone before you know it.

Not to mention that a third of Sid's career was the lowest scoring stretch in NHL history coupled with being out for 2.5 years at his peak because the Pens' doctors sucked.

Not sure how this relates what I said about having no issue with McDavid personally. Literally said I don't have a problem with him, just the people who refuse to acknowledge context when discussing raw production. So I'm not sure how me pointing that out in some way affects "enjoying one of the best players to put on skates".
 
I mean it sucks that Ovechkin gets his victory lap and farewell tour while Crosby gets set aside since it’s McDs time, but it is what it is. I guess it felt different when Lemieux and Gretzky were retiring since no one was really close to them at the time other than Jagr.
