I was laughing at the Colorado trading Newhook for two grinders comment but Tony Amonte was a legit star when the Rangers traded him in 1994. He had 84 goals and nearly 200 points so it's apples and oranges.

The younger fans on this board probably don't remember how much talent the Rangers had come in from 1988-1994. The reason that batch appears more productive than this batch so far is those guys were mostly NCAA/Russia and all spent at least 2-4 years in the programs.

What happened to Newhook?
Sucks we only got one cup out of it.

Bet Islanders board is fuming over the proactive shut down of the Flames and maybe even Carolina later.

Covid protocol working overtime today. Too many teams and players to keep track.

Toews out for the Avs tonight. Those dudes better not spread anything to the Rangers, we've been super lucky so far.

With the exception of about half of Hartford.

I see many on Twitter suggesting the NHL pause the season. What exactly would that accomplish? We’re in the dead of winter and community transmission is a thing. I can’t see the situation being any different in 2 weeks, a month, or 2 months from now so what would be the point? Isolate positives and postpone games as needed. The NHL should absolutely not be going to the Olympics though. That 2 week break should be used for makeups as necessary.

Pageau going after Raymond, what an absolutely pathetic player and what a pathetic team. I swear, everytime I switch over and catch a few minutes Chara is on the ice being terrible. Dude should not be playing as much as he is.

The more I hear about Eakins and what he has done with that young roster in Anaheim and how that has sparked the older vets, the more I think he was the guy Gorts should of went after instead of DQ. Hindsight is 50/50, but I would be curious to know if he was even a consideration.
