So don’t these UFAs need to sign like now ? Lol

time to bite the bullet and take cheaper 1 yr deals

Anyone else think this tough division will benefit us(fans and young players) in the long run? 8 games per team can create an even bigger rivalry for players and fans plus these young guys will find out you can't take your foot off the gas and every game is important.

I've said something similar to my friends. A lot will be dependent upon their resiliency. They're going to get thumped sometimes. They're going to need to show some toughness and an ability to learn on the fly and the pick themselves up, dust off and get right back after it (in game and between them).

Larry's article aside... I think the trial by fire MAY be good for them.

Anyone see this ?
Thinking about ads on helmets

I mean they can maybe let the fans back at limited capacity for some money? I’m really not a fan of this. Reminds me of what happened to the NFL in Baseketball, haha

it depends on how obnoxious they are talking. There is a lot of room between adding a single logo that will barely be noticeable and making players skating billboards like in Europe.

but the nhl and nhlpa should be looking for ways to grow revenue to increase the pool that they are splitting. And that has nothing to do with covid. They should want to grow it cause that’s best for both sides.

obviously there is a line for how far you should go but if you want to grow the game you need to get with the times. ‘Tradition’ isn’t always a reason to not do something

Give the naming rights to the divisions and conferences to businesses if they wanna make some more cash, logos on the pucks but i think they are heading down a slippery slope when you start with the equipment. I personally dont want a Huggies logo or Home Depot on my Rangers jersey, and ofcourse thats where this is heading.

It would certainly give the jerseys more of an ECHL, Swiss league feel.

What happened to all that momentum around a Jan 13 start?

Wouldn’t they need to announce something like that...yesterday?

Under normal circumstances I'd be totally against it. But during these times you gotta make the money where you can.
