The NHL will have had 6 game sevens this playoff year including Wednesday's game. The record is 7. These 2 day breaks between games dont help. Really drags on if you're not a Boston or st. Louis fan. Bring on the draft and free agency.

Draft is always scheduled a week or so beyond the end of the season, this is just typical impatience for those who are "antsy for the season to end"... Nothing was going to happen in the extra week of offseason

Pretty amazing that both the NHL and NBA both play an 82 game season and the NBA season will end on pretty much the same night as the NHL despite starting 2 weeks after the NHL season began.
NHL is definitely a tougher game, but these two day travel breaks in the finals are ridiculous. They havent made for a better product imo

And the NBA Finals schedule is incredibly ridiculously drawn out too.
I'm ready for hockey to end around Memorial Day.
I don't see how it benefits the NHL to be playing deep into June when the NBA Finals are still getting top billing as well as against a baseball season that's 30-35% complete.
I'm ready for it to end MLB opening day (a pipe dream, I know). The only benefit is $$$$$$ == more games equals longer playoffs which equals more money. Growing the game and making it attractive to new fans is a DISTANT second.
