Around the NHL - Part XLV (Playoffs edition)

Love to be proven wrong, but I just don't see it.
It took McD going nuts last time just for the Oilers to claw back into the series. the Florida attack will cause to many issues for the Oilers lower lines and yo-yo goaltending

OTOH the Panthers hyper aggressive OZ game is just primed to get toasted by the Oilers.

It happened last year too. It's easy to forget becasue they won the first 3 games, but they were signifcantly outplayed in 2 of those game. Games 4-5-6 were just really a continuation of that with better results for the Oilers.

You're talking about Raleigh? I've been there to see the Rangers, the last time was in '23 playoffs game two I think it was. There is NOTHING around there. I can't imagine anyone wanting to play there. The town is nothing!
There's nothing around the arena. Although, that's changing. There's plans to turn the area into something like the Battery in Atlanta.

As for the town being nothing, that's not totally true. At one time, a player could buy a palace with a giant piece of land 20 minutes from the arena for $600k. Married, with kids, that's not bad. These days, player would get half the house, a tenth of the property, and be a hour from the arena (same physical distance) for $1.5 million. The city itself doesn't offer anything more in the way of quality of life, just more people.

Before the playoffs started, I had Florida, Edmonton, Colorado, Vegas, and Dallas all in the same tier.

It's hard not to have Edmonton and Florida in a tier all their own now. It really feels like two unrelenting forces coming head to head.

Listen, Oilers, I really need you to win this time.
You, & all of Canada...
