Rantanen went cold quick in this series, 1 assist and 5 shots on goal with a -5 in the 3 losses.

Seems fitting for it to be Edmonton/Florida again, both deserve to be there.

Florida and Edmonton make the rest of the league look like a joke. It's almost sad watching them because of how good they are.

And Edmonton got the guy we should have hired LOL probably going to be 2 cup appearances in a row in his first NHL head coaching gig.

They are clearly the best two teams, and their consistency sets them apart. But they aren't streets ahed.
The Leafs just took the Cats to 7, which included being up 220 and leading in the 3rd period of game 3. The Oilers needed an LA brain fart this year, and went 7 against the Nucks last season with all but one game being a 1-goal difference.

It will be interesting to see what both teams look like next season. Florida has a heap of their roster the need to resign or replace, but they'll have the space to do it and you just know guys will want to play there. How much does back to back Cup trips take out of you?

The Oilers are more settled roster wise, but what do they do if they can't get over the last hurdle again?

Assuming both teams win their series of course.

Regardless of how they get there, they got there and that's all that matters in sports. You can't really say "well this had to happen for this to happen" because it all balances out. You can say that about every team who goes far, everyone gets breaks but you still have to be good to take advantage of them.

Yeah I agree, just not with the 'streets ahead' bit. They are best in class, they get it done when it matters, there's a few teams that can push them though and it will be interesting to see whether one, or both, can get there again next season
