Colorado would have been a better matchup for Edmonton. I think Colorado, Edmonton and Florida are the best teams in the league and we’re miles behind.

It's like you watch these teams and it's a different game. We are so f***ing slow and lethargic out there, it's sad to see. No emotion and no passion from our guys at all. Honestly, keep the young guys and trade the whole team for all i care. I'm sick of watching them.

It just show you how teams should be built. North-south hockey, forechecking and defense. Need to get rid of the fancy shit and get some guys who go into the dirty areas. The other team can't beat you if you suffocate the shit out of them.

Series is far from over but it is clear who the better team is. Dallas winning this would ultimately be a travesty because the better team is clearly Edmonton.

Honestly can't wait to get the playoffs over with so we can see what the hell happens with our team. Watching teams like Florida and Edmonton is fun but also depressing in a way. It's depressing because even in our "good" years, we never looked as good as any of these teams. We are just so far behind the elite teams in the league and it's sad. There is a lot of work to do and i really hope our guys wake up and play some decent hockey next year. This was the worst season in a while.

There is absolutely no one who thinks Bobrovsky was a good contract or that he’s the reason for Florida’s success. I didn’t say it’s a death knell. I said I hate the contract and the decision to give it so much that it makes it harder for me to root for us.

Whether or not people believe he’s an integral part of their success is a bit irrelevant They’ve gotten to where they are with him playing goalie, paying him what he makes.

Their team overall is built better top to bottom. Hopefully our team can get to that point

Also, I’m a firm member of the Chris Drury hater club, but he had no choice to hand out that deal. I know people think he could have just walked away but let’s be serious.

Couldn’t agree more. But the cap is silly in that it prevents teams from potentially retaining players they drafted / signed to their first NHL contracts. Not everyone takes a haircut to play in the same city; players also demand premiums to play in more expensive or less desirable markets. Cap doesn’t address that. I have to wonder whether the issue wasn’t the cap in the first place. We shouldn’t be punished for trying to retain Igor or Laffy (however I’ll advised it might be). But a cap on splurging on UFAs and bringing us back to the dark era? Sure; we don’t need a revolving door of talent and 12 Mitch Marners.

Also, I’m a firm member of the Chris Drury hater club, but he had no choice to hand out that deal. I know people think he could have just walked away but let’s be serious.

It’s the classic principal / agency problem: Drury is incentivized to keep his job. So he kicks every problem down the road: no point in worrying about next year’s contract if you got fired for prematurely (in the eyes of the owner) retooling and selling your most valuable asset at peak value.

People here want playoff performers but not arguably the most valuable playoff riser outside of Mcdavid over the last 5 years

NYR can win with Igor. The problem in hockey is never good players getting paid too much.

I was against the Igor extension but there is nothing we can do about it now. What NEEDS to be done is build an elite defense in front of our elite goalie. Enough of the bullshit defensemen that we have been playing ever since the Hank days. Get some guys who can defend, pass the puck and clear the damn paint. You can't sign a goalie for that much and then cheap out on the defense. Figure it out
