The things with playoffs is you need to be able to play a hard, nasty physical game....at least be able to match that with any team you might face. 'We'll kill them on the power play!' but the refs aren't going to save you by giving the other team tons of extra penalties because they're being mean to you. Not in the playoffs anyway. Brind'amour has a turn the other cheek kind of team and Florida is just eating them up. When things get down to the nitty gritty hockey is a combat sport and there's not enough combat in the Canes. There wasn't last year or the year before either. Brind'amour is a really good coach for the regular season but I don't think his team is ever going to win a Cup with the approach to playoff hockey they have. To me they're more of a pretender than even we were last year.

We have some young forwards still developing who can help us perhaps with this. Cuylle. Rempe and Edstrom. Perhaps Othmann and Berard. Maybe some other guys in Hartford. Our top 6 don't have anything like a Tkachuk or Bennett though. Barkov's a big body who will drive the net. We don't have a player in our top 6 like that either.

I agree. It needs to be a team effort and everybody needs to buy in from the beginning. Our team is too soft and too nonchalant when things get tough. How many times have we watched guys go after Igor, Fox, Panarin, only to see our guys maybe give a little push. Florida will torture Aho for the rest of his career after what he did and that's how it should be. Our team is full of soft figure skating wimps who can't handle the team getting rid of a few guys. If you really think about it, what we watched this year with our team was extremely embarassing

The theory is that if he cheats to McDavid, the players are talented enough to recognize the open net and take it. It’s a no win situation for Otter with McDavid, RNH and Hyman on a 3-1. That’s 3 good players.
