I don't know that it's about development, some players have the desire to be a wrecking ball and some don't. Knies has a motor that has dragged the leafs through the playoffs. Kreider never had that and he never had the playmaking ability that knies does. People dump on kreider but he was never a guy that created his own offense (except with speed), he is what he is and he was great at that.
