Just saw the clip... Anyone thinking Bennet elbowed Stolarz accidentally? Anyway who on the Leafs roster can teach him to be more careful? Bet Chief Berube didn't like it one bit.

I have a hard time believing any one would intentionally aim to elbow someone in the head. Like they go in wanting to knock them flat but get carried away and do more damage then intended. Maybe Ekblad wanted to headshot Hagel, but I think those are rare unless instigated. Like now I could see someone retaliating against a FLA player.

I actually thought TOR had a decent chance with Stolarz. Not sure Woll is the same level.

Reaves will be in the lineup in Game 2. Bennett is really such a scumbag. It's too the point I wouldnt even want him on my team and Im as big a "grit and toughness" guy as anyone. Wouldnt mind JT or Cuylle ear holing him with an elbow next year wherever he signs. Id say Rempe but he'd get the guillotine for it.

Always wanted him or a player like him.. Still do probably, but this looks shitty. I mean Tampa, Pitt, and Florida all defo played sneakily dirty in the own ways against us in the playoffs, but this one looks like a standout. Also, wonder if the "accident" would've happened if the Leaves had (a) Jacob Truba dressed...

Also yeah, I've remembered after I posted that they carry Reavo still, but that's the problem - would they want to field a forward just for that? A forward who already could barely skate in the playoffs when with us. I'd wager they aren't gonna make themselves weaker just for a possible retribution. OTOH if he actually can meaningfully contribute the minutes.. then the prospect of it happening seems more probable.

We'll always have Reavo's first period of Game 1 against Pittsburgh in 2022 when he hit everything that moved and leveled Malkin. By the end of that run he was getting beat up ice by Pat Maroon on a 1st minute goal.

You don't have to be a brute to get retribution. Anyone can throw an elbow, blindside hit, etc.

Ekblad is far from a super tough heavyweight and we saw what happened last round.

That said, you've gotta be really careful about picking your spot here. Bennett should have to answer, but you've got the upper hand in this series and theres no reason to relinquish that to get your pound of flesh. If you're up or down by 5, go for it but other than that unless you can ninja that shit it's probably best to just let it go until it makes sense.

Dressing Revo would be so dumb.
 
I've held Rempe accountable and said that he has to be more responsible. I stand by that. It's the NHL and you have to do what it takes to stick here. It is what it is.

Still, it's super frustrating to see this league send a clear message to Rempe, while they're standing around waiting for Bennett to end somebody's life before they do anything.

Doug Armstrong very candid in the Blues breakup day about Krug having a "very very invasive" surgery on his ankle. He doesn't expect Krug to play again. Maybe that's just fightin' words to get Torey into a "I'm gonna show you!" mindset.

Give me Ovie and McDaddy tonight. I’d love to see Edmonton keep failing but I LOATHE Vegas. Can’t root for Carolina over Washington either; don’t love the Caps but Ovie is a G and it would be absolutely wild to break the record and then win a Cup.
