Around the NHL - Part XLV (Playoffs edition)

Injured. Just crashed into boards could barely stand up even while being helped off ice.
Multiple concussions this season.

Just one, against the Islanders. He had a shoulder strain (also against the Islanders). He’s missed like 8 games total. He gets hurt a lot though, like puck to the face, puck to the junk, etc.

that Makar pass to Necas was sick

If you don’t understand how far ahead of even Hughes Makar is relative to other D, I don’t know how to help you. Hughes is the Mackinnon or Kucherov of D. Fox is like the Panarin or Pastrnak of D. Makar is the McDavid. Makar may be a 150 point player if he were a forward. He’s filthy.

Also, my boy Hintz is having a night.

Our old friend Ryan Lindgren looked awful defending that rush

Should have been able to influence or flat out deny that shot imo

Probably so, but Roope is also 6’3 215 and one of the fastest players in the NHL. He’s a lot to handle coming in with speed like that. Doubt Fox does much better in that particular spot. He’s absolutely flying when he picks up that puck and it’s not on his stick long.

I think it was an easy ready to cheat over to that side and play Hintz 1 on 1. The other Dallas fwd was totally flat footed @ the blue line, Lindgren played it like he was driving back post ona 2on1.

Fox easily recognizes that imo.

number two was tonight. I would be shocked if that wasn't a concussion.

I don’t think it matters, personally. Hintz is probably up around 27 MPH when he picks up the puck. In slo-mo he has it for about 1.5 seconds; in real time it’s probably .7 seconds from picking it up to firing that shot. He’s massive and he flies. He had an open lane and the puck came right to him on a fortuitous play. Everyone was caught flat footed. Hintz was the one who broke it out behind his own net and he was building speed up all the way down the ice in a straight line when the puck bounced out right in a perfect line for him gather it and snap it home.
