Around the NHL - Part XLV (Playoffs edition)

I don’t know if that’s really “holding”. I’m not sure I don’t agree that it’s a bit “dirty” to fight with the defender for position on a loose puck like that, but that feels fairly soft.

I dislike the hurricanes more than the caps idk why. Caps have already won and I enjoy the Canes just failing every year. I want them to stay buns just like NYR

I guess I am not alone

Otter is genuinely a top tier goalie. Hank has been a fan for several years, he’s been praising Otter above most young goalies since his first year in the booth if I recall correctly. He is finding his consistency; when he was a bit younger he wasn’t as steady but the talent was there. Keep in mind he is a good deal younger than Igor, so this year’s playoffs for him are like Igor’s first trip to the ECF. He’s a verrrry good goalie. Younger than all of Igor, Hellebuyck, Sorokin, Vasilevsky, by a full 3-5 years each.

Dallas needs to find their offense badly tonight. Outside of three Finns - Rantanen, Hintz, Granlund - they’ve been fairly anemic. That Seguin post will haunt them tonight. Lindell is underrated; he’s been huge on D tonight. Robertson may be healthy but he hasn’t gotten back into the games. Slow start to the season and he was super hot, that injury was unfortunate.

Petrovic is such a weak link. Now that Heiskanen is back he has no business in the lineup. Why Deboer is running 7 D and 11 forwards in favor of freaking Petrovic is beyond me, but he’s a decent coach so I’ll roll with it. Petrovic may be tough but he blows. Dressing 6 healthy D is fine.

Dallas coming out shorthanded here is baffling. NHL really disappointed with the way the number of games per series so far, eh?
