Not me. I wouldn't be happy if he broke the record against us.Most people would call that class.

Did you see the ticket prices for this game? I would've stayed home too.lol at the whole crowd being caps fans
at least islanders season ticket holders got something out of this season ($$$)
I think it shows he was one of the best at what he does but he isnt a top 10 player imo.Gretzky has more assists than anyone else has points. He also has 4 cups. I like OV but his goal record has no meaning or significance whatsoever.

Ok bill bucknerStrange as it sounds I wouldn't mind going in the record books as giving up the goal. At least he is now in the record books for something![]()
He is remembered for his error but not in the record books as far as I know. Game 6's don't countOk bill buckner

Not trying to be argumentative but I would view Ovie as the guy with the most goals ever while I may not view him as the greatest goal scorer ever. Now with that said I do find what he has done this season at age 39 to be the best ever for anyone that age.ok lol
Guy breaks a Gretzky record to immortalize himself as the greatest goal scorer ever but it actually doesn't have any meaning or significance.
Shit had me tuning into a f***ing Islanders game on a Sunday afternoon
Ovechkin looked very average when Hunter and Oates were his coach. Like he was still good but not as dynamic. He also had some personal stuff go on in the early 2010s, I forget if it was sick parent or a break up.Not trying to be argumentative but I would view Ovie as the guy with the most goals ever while I may not view him as the greatest goal scorer ever. Crazy as it sounds around 13 years ago people said Ovie was done on this very board. I said I would still take him in a trade and some people got upset with me. It was probably some of the same follks got mad because I wanted to sign Stamkos as a UFA (around 2016) and move on from Stepan.

I give him credit for changing his training even if he still has a crap diet.
#weNeverGetAGoodCoachThey tried to get him to "play the right way." I think Oates even threw him on the RW and that just didn't work at all.
Trotz is as strict of a defensive coach as he is but he was smart enough to let OV be OV. When you have the greatest goal scorer of all time, you just let him do what ever the f*** he wants to do and hope that he gives you the bare minimum everywhere else.
Coaching matters. We've had some awful ones roll through here in the last 10 years.
My top 3 choices in no order to replace Laviolette when he's dismissed in about 15-16 days are Jay Leach, Dan Muse, Brad Shaw (if he's not retained by the Flyers).#weNeverGetAGoodCoach
