Around the NHL: Part XLIV 2025)

So after all the histrionics, Kakko has scored

1 point per 28 minutes on ice with NYR this season
1 point per 27 minutes on the ice with Seattle.

Last season, a down year, he scores 1 point per 42 minutes.

His good year, where he hit 40 points, he scores 1 point per 31 minutes.

The guy is an unspectacular middle 6 winger. Not a bad hockey player! But I'd be shocked if he ever turned into a bona fide offensive option.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but it appeared to me that after playing KK on the PP1 for months the Seattle coach may have taken KK off the PP1 in the last 2 games.

Baffling that they haven't even considered going back to 1-8. Maybe when Bettman retires.

I don’t get why ESPN or TNT haven’t complained to Bettman on it. Sure, the 1st round ratings are good as a result. But, it really hampers 2nd and 3rd round numbers. My guess is that the PA will push for it in the new CBA in exchange for something.

Four games that are surprisingly irrelevant to us tonight.

Minnesota over New Jersey, I guess. Keep that dream alive for a while longer.

For those of us who want 14OA or later, Colorado over Calgary would be helpful. Vice versa for the people who want to try to get up to 9th or 10th OA.

I know some think we’d have ruined Crosby and McDavid, but honestly it’s shit luck we picked the consensus choice at the time and get 2 OA Mister Vanilla Adequate 2nd Liner Great 3rd Liner, and then at 1 OA Mister My Greatest Skill Is looking 30 When I’m 20

At least they're better than Brendl and Lundmark, but not much considering the higher draft position.

And now gotta wait a few more decades to get a 1 oa lol i hope that pick doesn't last a lifetime.
