Around the NHL: Part XLIV 2025)

If the Habs lose to the Hurricanes and the Blue Jackers win their last 2 to bump Montreal out, is Jeff Gorton still a masterful rebuilding genius?

He is just at an elite level. People got mad at me when I said the 4 nations tourny opened my eyes but it did. There is just an elite level of players that we do not have. We have several good strong all star possible players but its debatable if we have a top 20 player.
We need a player to carry the team offensively.

All of our players typically wilt in big games. There’s exceptions but it’s mostly been shit at even strength

Minnesota ties it up late in the 3rd. Coach throws a cold MAF into the net for overtime and they win to clinch the playoffs. What an epic outcome.

EDIT: the OT point clinched it so they could afford to do this. Still epic.

Curious why these specific results?

That would mean that neither CBJ passes MTL, nor NYI pass us, but there are plenty of scenarios where that can happen.
Didn’t realize CBJ needed both in regulation. Thought they needed 1 in regulation and 4 points total. The extra point to NYI was just to annoy their fans. Change that to CBJ in regulation then.
