Chytil backcheck in overtime was way more egregious a coast job than Panarin’s a few games ago after Borgen’s woeful pass. Garland’s pass was off-target too, but Chytil’s controller disconnected big time as he coasts back up the ice for a Detroit winner. Almost like it’s hard to recover and get back up ice when in a bad position.

This isn’t me burying Chytil, I love the player. Just that these things happen in hockey. He did some really good things here in this game which are celebrated.

Crickets on that play, though, from the usual suspects here.

Starts a little over a minute left.

I don’t wanna be rude coming in here or anything like that, but I think Context is very important.

I hope you guys don’t mind👏

That was after a very long shift, after pretty much dominating for a majority of the game he was on, both in OT and Regular play.

This has nothing to do about JT Miller by the way, just responding to what you said.

And it’s not a slight at what you said either

Yeah you don’t really know what this is in reference to. Context does matter. We have some terrible fans who magnify every bad play beyond absurdity and ignore good stuff because they have an agenda to push and nothing better to do with their time than be bitter.

It’s all I was getting at. Chytil will be great for you guys if can stay healthy.

That did look bad but 3 on 3 makes it a little more understandable.

And I definitely don’t have to hype up JT Miller, everybody on these boards that know me know he’s basically my favourite hockey player in the league.

You guys got an absolute beauty

Maybe when you get traded for Will Borgen the pressure on you is to just be better than Will Borgen and not to live up to #2 overall.

I really hope this isn't what the narrative becomes a few years down the road.

So many of us were saying ad nauseum that he wasn't being put in a position to succeed. Kakko confirmed that sentiment since being traded.

Now he is being put in a position to succeed, and he is succeeding. It has nothing to do with his motivation.

I didn't say it was motivation, I said it's easier to deal with the pressure of Seattle when you got traded in a low profile trade than be in New York as a 2nd overall pick. He had enough chances to score in his time with the Rangers and was one of the worst finishers that weren't a 4th liner that I've seen. The goal today goes in the front row or gets fanned on with the Rangers.

And I think that's because he was always one bad period away from being demoted here.

In Seattle, they've just put him on the first line and told him to go play hockey. 3 point night? Cool, go play hockey. Scoreless and not a big impact in a 6 goal game? Cool, go play hockey.

That's the freedom we're seeing in his game, it's not related to the size of the market.

I don't tell grown adults how to live. But I will suggest that the ignore feature is a huge help with this. It is a lot easier (and more peaceful) to not see certain posts than it is to try to change another person's beliefs or behavior patterns.

Happy to see Filip score but also chuckled about him getting a pass in his skates on a wide open net with a chance to win in OT. Detroit goes the other way and ends it. Some things never change.

Yes, Keep hockey club and use the stupid yeti logo. HC is no different from the Canadians full name. All new teams don't have to be a fantasy name. Be different, Utah.
No. I like Mammoth. I like the trend of singular-plural (uncountable) names, e.g., Kraken.

Dogmen are the new Sasquatch in the cryptid world and would have been a seamless transition from Coyotes but no one asked me.

Plus there’s a Skinwalker Ranch connection.
