There is definitely some randomness to it. However so many times they look absolutely clueless on odd man rushes. Either over pass and not even get a shot on goal or wait to long and logo snipe the goalie.

I remember when we had those AV teams that finished well on odd man rushes we complained that that's the only way they scored and that they were stuck in their own zone.
