Classic NHL? The Debbies' overseas games are probably to blame here, but why the heck we are on 16? We had a couple of long ass breaks already.

I’m not sure what has me more on tilt, Ovi not looking washed anymore, or the Caps being good. I live in the DC area and its been relatively painless with the Rangers being so good in recent years.

It’s gonna be rough if the Caps somehow keep this up and beat us in the playoffs this year. I don’t think it’s been a fluke. They had an offseason that we all lauded and have seen some significant improvement in a couple of key young players (McMichael, Protas).

We are getting real close to Gallant getting another coaching gig and it's gonna be damn funny. I can see him being okay for a year or two for a roster like Boston, but I see Red Wings fans and Habs fans calling for him. Either of those teams hiring him would be a monumental disaster and i'm here for it.

Looking at depth charts, the 6th best player from 5 teams would be upgrades over almost everyone but Zib easily, and getting out of the Zib and Trouba contracts would be massive value alone. Replace Trouba with a Cernak or Zub for half the price. Replace Lindgren with a mobile guy like Byram who can actually move the puck at the same $$$. Smith… there’s just better wingers that are #6 on a team’s priority list for comparable money. “Replacing” Zib wouldn’t be easy going this route, but everyone else would be an upgrade and players like Josh Norris, etc. could still be effective, younger, cheaper options.
