Rangers and Canes have not been firing on all cylinders and yet are both up 3-0. They have played well, imo, but there is still more to give.

This is one of the reasons I feel the playoffs don’t really start till the 2nd round when it’s 8 teams left. You separate the pretenders and the contenders in that first round. Florida last year just got in but were better than their record, and went all the way to the SCF.

Caps don’t belong in the playoffs, and maybe the same can be said for the Islanders.
