im sure its happened in the early days of the NHL.Gotta respect if not love Rod Brind'Amour. He has a chance to both Captain his team and Coach his team to a Stanley Cup. Only other guy I can think of who basically did that was Der Kaiser, Franz Beckenbauer. Maybe there's others., idk.
Probably also owned the team.im sure its happened in the early days of the NHL.
Someone named Flip Gumpley probably did it for the Saskatoon Moose Tigers
Also they can take Necas out for the mock flying after he scored. I'd like to punch his lights out.I wouldn't blame the Islanders for getting dirty and throwing flying elbows in response to that dive and PPG. I wouldn't blame the Canes either if they decided to get ahead of it and just threw some chin shots preemptively.
f*** him.Gotta respect if not love Rod Brind'Amour. He has a chance to both Captain his team and Coach his team to a Stanley Cup. Only other guy I can think of who basically did that was Der Kaiser, Franz Beckenbauer. Maybe there's others., idk.
Carolina doesn't look as good as I thought.
The playoffs are a different beast. I'm surprised how many people are just writing off the Islanders and Capitals given our history of having close series' against everybody these past 20 years.
Seriously, reading the main boards the Canes are supposed to be juggernauts and we are completely undeserving of 1st in the division. But I don't really see that much game breaking talent. And this game they are just mediocre to bad so far. Both these teams look mediocre AF.
Boooooooring.
Andersen will gift the Isles a game or two.
The Rangers haven't played the capitals in 9 years.
There is one Ranger on the current roster who was on that one and what, 2 Capitals?
Anyway, at this point this game is kind of a must win for the Islanders. I don't think they have it in them to bounce back from a deflating loss after playing a team that should be smoking them in a close game.
