Around the NHL - Part XLII - (2023-24 Season edition)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Hate jersey winning and solidifying that 3rd seed but we need Columbus to fall out of this race and they are really falling apart right now.

Hey, Bolts fan coming in peace. Do any of you happen to know what happened to the Game Misconduct podcast? Hasn't posted since 3/3. I know they cover the whole league but it's a pretty Rangers heavy pod and I know that LaGreca works for MSG so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks.

I don't think it turns out quite this bad if Subban isn't a piece of shit. Blais was actually looking pretty damn good until PK tried to end his career.

Not that it's likely at all that he ends up being as good as Buch, but there was certainly a world where he became a contributing middle six player for us during a couple playoff runs.
I think Blais's impact would have been closer to Rempe than Buch. Blais maxed out at 9 goals and 11 assists, put up .27 PPG across his career, averaged ~11m of ice time across his career, and never played more than 53 games in a season including playoffs. Those wrecking ball guys have some value, but give me another Buch 10 times out of 10.

Yeah, I take Buch every time too. Even not being a wrecking ball, he definitely had some bite to his game.

It just felt like Blais had lost a step when he finally returned from that slew foot (almost an entire calendar year later?). A big part of his value was that he was a big, rough, energy guy, with reasonable hands. He wasn't really that once he got back; he was just a Gauthier level bottom 6er.
