Just for drool purposes:

Nash-Richards-Tarasenko
Kreider-Stepan-Gaborik
Hagelin-Boyle-Callahan
Rupp-Halpern-Asham.

Should add Giroux and anybody drafted after Hugh Jessiman in the 03 draft.

Looking back, who do you guys think from the 03 draft that we could have had would fit this team right now?

Weber, Backes, Brown, Eriksson, Suter, Bergeron, Getzlaf, Perry?

Probably Weber, jesus that's just what our PP needs. He's a LD though, correct?

If you have Center Ice, tune into the Blues game on the Blues feed, Wade Redden is in the booth talking.

he seems to have a good attitude. i hope he does well. he is not like certain players especially younger players who refuse to play in the minors like Valentenko when they sent down etc...

Drafting Giroux probably means that we don't sign Richards, or draft guys like Stepan and Kreider.
Having Tarasenko+the current line up would be way more believable.

I know, butterfly effect and all. Change one pick in a previous draft and you change the entire outcome of multiple seasons for multiple teams but it's still fun to think we could have had certain players while maintaining the current roster :P

Glad I picked Tarasenko up on my fantasy team at least!

We're not the only ones to pass on Tarasenko.

Look at Dallas, they drafted a goalie who's putting up mediocre numbers since his WJC.

Derek Forbort is big comparable to Dylan McIlrath in the essence where they are both shutdown, tough defenders. LA picked him 1 spot ahead of Tarasenko.

At this point, if McIlrath continues to progress well with the updates I'm hearing, he'll be a NHL player sooner or later. I will take it.

Orpik and Regehr were picked ahead of Frolov and Gagne respectively. Frolov, to be fair, was a dominant goal scoring machine early in his career with the Kings, while Orpik still wasn't established til the 08-09 season as a 20 minute defenseman. I wonder how many Penguins fans were upset with the pick in 2008 after Frolov had seasons of 67 and 71 point the past 2 years while Orpik was merely a bottom pair defender.

What I'm saying is, yeah the pick looks bad right now. But I really like McIlrath's game and I think we may end up appreciating it down the line. And I'm talking 7-10 years. Or it could turn out like Jessiman, but I have faith in McIlrath. Doesn't mean you guys have to! Just my views.

My question is why a Columbus home game, let alone a Columbus game, is on NBC Sports Network, otherwise known as National Television.

I had faith too, until the news he's not better than Bickel right now comes to light.

When you're a 20 year old top 10 draft pick you should be better than Stu ****ing Bickel.

Very disappointing turn of events if true.

Who said he's not? Just that he's not on the team? He just came off a big injury and he's developing in the minors. I don't see a problem here.

McIlrath's not up right now because he missed quite a bit of time to start the year and is getting settled in the AHL playing 25-30 minutes a night. The Rangers and the coaching staff in Connecticut are obviously helping him transition to the Pros by giving him a ton of playing time, which is something he wouldn't get with the Rangers. I really suspect he will be up this season, unless Slats trades for a defender.

Beacon, who's watched tons of AHL hockey. Of course, it's probably a product of rust...but if your top 10 20 year old D-man isn't playing better than Stu Bickel i can't be too excited.
