Messier wasn't even a consistent post-season all-star. Get out of here.

It's funny, on many teams, you could argue that Messier was at best the second most talented talented player, and in some cases maybe even third or fourth.

He was however one of those players whose "makeup" was not only more than the sum of his parts, but arguably some weird kind of RPG multiplier.

Sometimes it feels like Tampa Bay's pursuit of so many former Rangers has also had the unintended consequence of bringing with it the habit of making things harder than they should be, and a somewhat questionable sense of urgency.

So pumped for the CBJ to take a 3-0 lead. No Kucherov or Hedman, so this is their chance. You have to be lucky and take advantage of that luck in the playoffs to make it far.

Yes, but "generational" is inherently defined by one's generation.

Can't change the meaning of the word because the guy is the only dog at the bowl.

Same reason I feel Lundqvist is generational. Absolutely abhorrent generation of goaltenders, but we can't change the rules.

I feel like generational should be ON AVERAGE once a generation. Just like Lemieux shouldn't be punished for his parents deciding to shack up around the same time as Gretzky's parents, Lundqvist shouldn't be rewarded for the opposite.

Should have traded Callahan a 1st round pick and a 3rd round pick to us for Zuccarello at 50% retained.
