Tampa commentators: "They are skating in quicksand right now" kind of frustrated.
John Tortorella know how to play really hard and good neutral zone defense - this is like a nightmare matchup for Tampa after 1 game + 40 min. of playoffs hockey. The recent CBJ signings start to grow into their game as well this could go really bad for Tampa.
Good observation, Ori. When they added to their team in the late season, it got a lot of attention but it looks like a good decision so far.

I think the Penguins always figured premiere offense would offset less than great defense. That always seemed to be not a bad bet by them, at least the results seemed to prove it. It still doesn't change the fact that I always wondered why their defense was not defensively better.

Moving Miller was never an issue for me. We got out from under the player at the right time.

I still think we could have gotten a bigger return for him though.
Yeah I would have rather moved him separately I think.

He’s an ok player but if you’re specifically looking for ideal playoff players, he’s not that. TB could have gotten a more fitting player for what they’re trying to do. Same thing with G. Managing the puck well in the post season is kind of a big deal and they’re both bad at it.

I don't think adding Dan Girardi was a bad idea by the Lightning. His game is still sufficient in my view, but there are other problems. I think they thought McDonagh would bring more than he did. I'm not being hard on McDonagh, but actually he is what they are seeing now. I think that the Lightning envisioned more impact by McDonagh.

We timed this rebuild perfectly. The Caps and Pens will be on a downward spiral when we're ready to contend.

Couldn't agree more. What's going to be really cool is that it's going to the Islanders and Devils who will also be contending for Metro supremacy as well once our rebuild really starts to bear fruit...

As a long time old time fan, alot of the newer Ranger fans really don't know true hatred of the Islanders like us Rangers fans did back in the early 80's when they were breaking our f'n hearts year after year. The rivalry with the Devils is different and the hate doesn't morph like it does for the Isles. So if we are all good in 2-3 years like we expect, it will be epic around these parts with the rivalries in full boar...

I wish announcers stopped hyping up Gordie Howe hat tricks like they mean something. "First ever Gordie Howe hat trick in Columbus history". In the end, it's just a goal and an assist.

McDonagh is gonna wanna buy one of those things that flashes in your eyes and erases your memory of the what is currently happening.

I know! That's what the sad and funny part about it is. As I type this, Columbus scores.

I was hoping for Tampa @NYRKING30 , but I sometimes like to cheer on underdogs in games which I`ve a neutral opinion. And I`ve Canes in 7 vs Flames - it will probably never happen, hehe. :)

- Panarin 5-1 that`s game 2-0 CBJ for sure.
