I was close to a heart attack here, maybe too much money on the line but it appears as I survived. Woho. Hell of a game at Bell Centre.

So I come back and see that Pittsburgh scored 7 ****ing goals against Montreal without the 2nd best player in the world. Meanwhile we scored 1 goal in 2 games against them. Anyone else bothered by this.

Yeah, especially considering they scored 7 goals and had to win it in OT, still.

Penguins still have the best player in the world and players like Neal and Kunitz. Their style is more offensive as well.
 
In fact Tavares is a player in retrospect worth tanking over. Just imagine with NYR money if they had Tavares and their defense . That guy is the epitome of a. 1 C
 
Another day full of hockey. 3 games today, including the Rangers. What a great weekend.

Any guy picked first the past few years would've tremendously helped propel this team. Imagine if Hank blew his knees or something in 2010 and we end up with a Hall or Seguin instead of a McIlrath and a heartbreaking final regular season day loss....

Congrats to Hossa !

One of my fave players in the '97 draft. They said he couldn't find the defensive zone with a map. Yeah, good call 'scouts'. Hossa is only behind Jokinen, Marleau and Thorton in games played from that draft.
 
Hossa is the best defensive winger I've ever seen. He's not quite generational, but he should have a couple of Selkes to his resume if not for Datsyuk.

In the 08 series vs. the Penguins, he was the best player on the Penguins that included two Hart Trophy winners.
