Would have rooted for Toronto the team if not for their fanbase. I did not want Boston to win at heart, but objectively, I have Boston winning the whole damn thing this year. Also won money on Boston winning tonight, so it's not all bad.

I kind of like the Jackets to pull off the upset over the big bad Bruins. Every year there is a team of destiny(think Vegas last year) and this year for me, it certainly seems as if Torts and the Jackets are that team of destiny.

So I'm going to say Jackets win in 6 over the Bruins and end up playing the Caps in the ECF who will have defeated obviously the Canes tomorrow night and the Islanders in 6-7. And as a double wammy, I think the Jackets will represent the East in the Cup finals. I just think from what I've seen so far, the Jackets have that look of a team ready to go on a major roll kind of like we did a few of those playoff years a few years ago.

@RangerBoy come on, post your stuff about Tavares/Maple Leafs now that they're out of the playoffs.

Your hot takes are the sustenance that keeps me going through this barren wasteland we call "living"

I generally am too, but there might be a line somewhere in the direction of those two fan bases and media being annoying to each other (that all the other hockey coverage channels will also pick up and be annoying about) that I’m unwilling to cross
It would also mean the Islanders don’t lose next round.

Is it just me, but does the Rangers off season look so much better than teams like Tampa and Toronto? They have a lot to fix. Went all in and still have to give raises.

No cap space, no firsts. They’re gonna have zero leverage in any cap related trade. Nylander could be bought at a garage sale price, I think.
He better be! They need to unload cap and any team that pays market value for him (whatever that is) would be dumb.

Both those teams will still be lethal...don't doubt that for a second even with raises they need to give. We, on the other hand and I agree with you, are in real good shape heading into the draft so long as we don't muck it up which seemingly is impossible so long as we get Kakko or Hughes. I really want us to get Panarin and get Krastkov, Shesty and some of the other kids play and we will be good to go and ready to compete for a playoff spot next year as a bubbleish type team. Two years from now, we are ready to roll

Islanders need to go down. The playoffs thus far have been stress free and fun to watch. God forbid the Islanders beat the Caps and/or the Canes to make it to the ECF, than I'll be starting to get stressed out. No way they advance which is why as much as I get a kick out of the bunch of jerks from Carolina, I hope Caps win seeing I think they'll definitely beat the Islanders whereas, the Canes probably wouldn't.

I wonder what changes are gonna come in Toronto this summer. Three straight seasons of first round exits.

Still waiting for that Kyle Dubas genius GM ability we've heard so much about to take effect.

I'm going to laugh when the Lightning, Bruins and Leafs finish 1-2-3 in the division again next year and the Leafs have to play the Bruins again in the first round.

I could be wrong, but don’t see either team winning the cup with their current head coaches. Their core is still young but have proven to disappear in the playoffs when it matters most..more Tampa than Toronto, because Tampa has gotten far before only to get swept in the 1st round this year.

They're throwing Babcock under the bus over there in the Toronto board. Leaf Nation is ready to move on from him.

Nylander certainly didn't do much to pull his value out of the toilet. I really think he was expecting to be dealt and the Leafs called his bluff.

Dubas has some chips he can cash if he really wants to move a contract out. Sandin and Liljegren are solid prospects. Dunn is a good young defender. I don't think Zaitsev is unmovable with some retention. There are some options.

Marleau moved his family to Toronto so I doubt he moves in the last year of his deal but a team could offer to buy him out in exchange for a decent incentive. Unfortunately the NHL sort of put teams on notice regarding an Orpik-like transaction (was news to me) so Marleau would likely be committing to retirement at that point unless he was willing to leave his family for a season to sign with a contender. He could sign with a team like Pittsburgh, there's a direct flight to Toronto and it's only an hour or so.

Can only imagine in Toronto. But I have a cousin who lives in Tampa and he says things are ugly down there now. You saw that presser, it was blowing smoke up the fans asses.
