I prob shouldn’t be posting here since I’m a Bolt and Kraken fan. But my daughter lives in PC and has become a STH. And you guys got a prize 98 from the Lightning. Bottom line, I’m a hockey fan and hockey is gonna thrive in SLC mostly because of Smith and fans of hockey like you. I’m rooting for ya, big time.

A fight should bring an automatic game misconduct. Chance to show case the game and idiots start fighting. Turned the game off soon as it started. Was in Costa Rica and to many it was going to be the first time wat hing hockey. One friend Barbaric and another took there kids out of the room. That's when the TV went off.Horrible way to try and grow the game.

Maybe you should ask Canadians who has mucked up their country for the last nine years. It ain't Trump! You can be fans of hockey and still boo, as the Montreal fans demonstrated.
You want to bet the next game will have better TV ratings than the first game.

The ones I know are strong, resilient people. Admirable qualities regardless of geography. And damn good hockey players.That explains everything.

Should it be that way? I was wanting Olympic hockey not what we saw. Best of the best, grow our sport! If I did it again with how hockey is being played I probably would of not let my kids play. Would you?

Have you changed your mind yet? The game tonight is going to draw insane numbers, partly due to the fact of the last game. The way people are talking, Canada is comparing this game to the 72 Summit final game. People in the US are comparing it to the "Miracle on Ice" game. I think people are over exaggerating a bit, but this is what the NHL wanted, both countries in the game, both countries talking about it. This is huge for the NHL and the game is general. For what it is worth I predict Canada will win 4-2.
I have heard exactly no one compare this tournament to Olympics, 72 Series, or Miracle on Ice. This tournament and this game will rank somewhere between World Championship and World Cup of Hockey in importance but don't let that lessen the importance in the moment, both want to win.
I know you like to argue so I'm not going to oblige you, but listen to your own Ron McLean for one, or the NHL Network for another.
Keller would have loved to go. You can't worry about injuries, it's hockey, and these players are representing their country.
Na, I just like to call over exaggeration. Ask any fanbase if they could only win one of the 4 Nations Cup this year, the Stanley Cup this spring, or the next Olympic Gold medal. What order do you think they would choose. That's your answer on where this game ranks in history. This game will not be anywhere close in history to Summit Series or Muracle on Ice.

ESPN just showed a video of Kurt Russell from the Miracle movie giving Herb Brooks' famous speech but it was edited to look like he was giving it to the current team USA roster. They're tying those events into this tournament occasionally for hype and promotion, not necessarily comparing them, though.

Despite almost all of us wondering how interested players would be in this event it was a massive home run for the NHL. Great hockey that had been sorely missed

I'm really missing NHL games but the tournament turned out better than I expected too. It was great hockey.

I enjoyed watching the games, but did it grow the game or result in a substantial financial windfall for the owners? If not, I bet many owners and GMs would not be too excited to do it again. How many injuries were there? Was it worth it for those teams?
Ì know you hated the fighting and the I'm not a fan of it it either but the TV numbers are astronomical for a hockey game. I don't know if the eyes will stay but it brought plenty to the sport. The Owner's seem to have agreed to have such a tournament every 4 years between Olympics so I would say they are excited to do it again. This tournament was a massive home run.

You have to be the most contentious poster on this site. Doesn’t matter the position. I assume you were on some sort of a debate club in school, as you seem to oppose many things posters on here say, especially if it goes against your beloved leafs.
Sorry Siŕ this is a Wendy's. I have yet to ever start a conversation about the Leafs but do offer insight when the conversation heads there. You could try talking about my post but we both know it was factually correct so you choose to attack the Poster, that says more about you than me.
