Bruins fired Jim Montgomery
He'll be fine. Maybe they were right that he wasn't getting what they thought they should be getting out of the team, but I think that team isn't built to remain in contender status anymore and they're trying to run on fumes to stay elevated. My guess is that Sweeney and Neely will try and salvage something and still come up short as they stave off trying to do a rebuild. Might land them in that zone just outside the playoffs for a few seasons. That team has all the resources though so if they do bottom out, they'll still be able to attract free agents to supplement a rebuild or retool.

Keller had more pts. than Ovi last year. You guys aren't giving Strome enough credit, and maybe Schmaltz too much.
Strome is fine, where he is. Do you actually think he'd be more of an advantages on our roster than Schmaltz? Or are you just stirring the pot?

Interesting..... Smith could this be the precedent that motivates Smith to do likewise?

It is just crazy looking at the Edmonton D roster tonight and seeing them play Josh Brown, Troy Stecher, Travis Dermott, and Ty Emberson.

Usually, the GM fires the coach. The problem BA has it that Bear is his guy and he just extended him. This would be BA saying, I made a big mistake, I don't think his ego will let him do that, besides, he takes forever to make any serious decisions. If BA is thinking of replacing Bear now, he will do it by the all star break next year. If Smith jumps in and forces Bear out, then BA lost his power. I don't see us making a coaching change this year for those reasons, unless we lose 20 straight.

We ran a lot of risk with an inexperienced NHL GM and an inexperienced NHL head coach, both were first time gigs.

Stirring the pot. I think both players are happy where they are. I haven't watched Strome at all since he left here, but he was much better than Schmaltz the game they played here.

I think BA will let this year play out with AT, but he has to be in the hot seat. I thought the Coyotes underperformed a bit last year, but were doing better at the start of the year, but with parity in the NHL and you hit a losing streak your fortunes can turn fast. The honeymoon is over for both, that is for sure.
