Canucks with 5 shots midway through a Game 7. Playing a backup because Tocchet ran the starter into the ground. I like Tocchet as a person but this is Arizona all over again. The magical season in Vancouver appears to be turning into a pumpkin.

Luckily it doesn’t even matter because either one of these teams is going to get rolled by DAL in 5

Definitely didn’t have Rick Tocchet winning the Jack Adams on my 2024 bingo card.
The Canucks already had an exceptional core. Their front office shored up their depth and they started killing penalties as a result. Demko was fire in the regular season, Silovs in the playoffs. Their goalie coach, Ian Clark, deserves some coaching recognition but Tocchet merely held serve on this one. Congrats and good job and all but I remain glad he is a Canuck and Bear is a Coyote.

Yeah, I firmly believe that there are different types of coaches that are better for certain types of groups or dynamics. Sometimes a coach may be a good coach but not the right fit for the group and I think that was the case with Tocchet in AZ

How long until there's a high quality replacement for public use? The void will be filled.

Puckpedia definitely needs to clean up their data. It's listing so many players that haven't been part of this team in years. Also hope they include the must sign by dates on the drafted prospects. Maybe they will be pushed to improve after Capfriendiy goes down.

Any other sites you guys recommend?

Why? The infrastructure can't be hard to duplicate, can it? Don't NHL teams already have what Capfriendly gives us?
In a perfect example of “the most beautiful sport, the most ridiculous league…” several teams were using CapFriendly as their solution in the front office and those contracts need to be wound down with this acquisition. Infrastructure wouldn’t be hard, it’s just staying on top of confirmed, actual data that’s the tricky thing.

Pretty simple minded voting here. Only playoff teams and no love to a GM who has amassed 20 picks in the first 3 rounds of the next 3 drafts.

The first family of hockey analytics, sister specifically, has hinted that they may build a similar site.
