McDavid led Oilers forwards in TOI and had 0 points and was a -2. Hockey is a team sport, and you need good depth.
It is pretty wild how far you can ride one specific strength of a team, but they always seems to get weeded out in the playoffs where these teams almost always succumb to their other weaknesses.Edmonton “Sabres” with 0 even strength shots on goal thru 18 mins of the 2nd period
That charging call against Petterson was a bad of a call as I've ever seen. Petterson jumped straight into the air and literally all of the momentum was from the Oilers player.
The only way that's a penalty on Petterson is if he caught him with an elbow up high, which didn't appear to happen and certainly wasn't what they called
Their goalie coach also is very good ( Ian Clark). What is Rick Tocchet doing in Vancouver? Damn he must be a master at coaching.

I forget which coaching search .. but there were rumors about Tocchet to Buffalo and it was not received well here
I actually thought he was pretty good in Arizona his teams were just dog waterHe hadn’t been good in other places. This is only his second time with a team over .500.

"Fire alarm currently going off inside the Florida Panthers team hotel in Boston. Peak pre-game nap time."
Somebody taking a page at a Scotty Bowman’s book I see. That also happened in Buffalo one year during one of the flyers series. Middle of the night.
Meh. I would’ve liked Berube as a hire but I don’t think he’s a gamebreaking coach. I think he’s about the same level as Lindy, Gallant, etc.
As someone that doesn't think coaching was the issue for TML, I feel it's a lateral move in terms of quality of coaching.
Berube is a guy that knows how to use his players. You give him a decent roster, he will be good enough to have a competitive team. But his message seems to get stale pretty quickly.
OMG. Please give me a Binnington to TOR trade...They don’t have goaltending and their defensemen are not strong. He is going to have some issues.
Utah with 45.5 Mil in Cap space for next season. 53.3mil when adding in possible LTIR.
The splash will be enormous.
