I think they were already in that territory before the OEL deal, but yeah this certainly makes 10 mil-plus more solid for them. On the open market, once the cap goes up, I believe OEL could have made even more than he reportedly will sign for had he waited a year and started a bidding war during FA. He clearly wants to stay in Arizona and be a part of the rebuild, though, so he gave them a pretty good deal in return for term. I totally respect that.

Or it could just be an honest, heartfelt, classy thing to do. Guess it just depends upon one's world view.
The fact is that, while I am and will always be one of the biggest Bruins fans one would ever meet, having lived in DC for over 25 years now, I have to say that it is a remarkably classy franchise which has had an incredible owner in Ted Leonsis (of AOL fame) who has really put his heart and soul into the team for many years. I'm simply elated for him and the club.
