I've been listening to this podcast with Jimmy Murphy and Pierre McGuire, and I'll be honest... it isn't bad. I know McGuire isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he's fine here. The issue with him was that live sports isn't the time to cram the oral history of hockey into thirty-second bites.

I have grown to like Regis since he’s been off TV. The guy is an encyclopedia of random juniors stats and genuinely is passionate about the sport.

I listened to Puck Soup the other day. Take a guess at how long they talked about the whole episode - McDavid, Myers, the game, DoPS - for. Like 5-10 minutes, tops. Meanwhile, the Edmonton media is losing it's mind over their franchise player receiving a suspension.

He cross-checked a guy in the face. You're getting the book thrown at you every time for that. Should he have only gotten two while Myers got three? I can see why some see it that way. But it's one(!) game.

Could you imagine if the Pittsburgh media did this every time Malkin was kicked out of a game, fined, and/or suspended? Jeez...

It’s a “rules for thee, but not for me” argument. Like you said he literally cross checked someone in the face. Lmao. McDavid has gone under the radar for sometime with some of his dirty deeds. Crosby, Malkin, and Ovechkin have had a microscope on them their entire careers. Maybe it’s because he plays in damn near the Yukon Territory and not the Eastern U.S. but, he’s gotten away with a lot of shit.
