I just for the life of me don't understand how anyone can argue that the Pens don't get preferential treatment. Vanek gets a stick to the back of leg twice in plain view, no call.

The shift before that, Tavares broke Malkin's stick on a slash and one of the Isles defenseman held one of the Penguins along the boards for 5 full seconds with the puck 10 feet away and the Pen trying to get to it. Both in plain view. They get shafted on a lot of calls too.

Must suck to be a basement dweller again. I don't mean that in a malicious way, I kinda liked having the Isles competitive again.

96 GA already, FFS.

Edmonton got shelled by Phoenix 6-2.

That franchise just suuuuuuuuuucks.

Which franchise is truly more of a joke? The Islanders or Oilers?

I vote Oilers. Three consecutive 1st overalls and they still suck. Unbelievable.

As much as I want to say Isles, it's the Oilers. I mean how many more 1st overall picks do you need to turn it around. Also draft D-men. You need D-men.

Bryzgalov was a nice little under the radar signing, he plays well in smaller markets but crumbles in big cities.

But, that defense...

Bobby Ryan now has 14 goals, Sather really missed the boat on this guy over the summer.

How so? The Rangers had already moved their 1st rounder in this past years draft. You wanted him to trade this upcoming years 1st rounder for Ryan? On top of that, it would have easily taken Miller + or Kreider + on top of the 1st. No thanks.

I'm not sure if the Rangers had the pieces the ducks might have been looking for when they traded Ryan.

The Ducks got Silfverberg in exchange who I think is going to be a great scoring winger in the NHL, when Silf was on Ottawa he always stood out to me when the rangers played them...seems to have a nact for the net. He was off to a great start to the season this year before he broke his hand, he still hasn't returned yet.... Nevermind that they also got a first round pick and Noesen in the deal.

i would have dealt for Ryan instead of a bunch of players with that losing mentality. they dont know what it is like to win. at least Ryan was around players that have won before...Rangers players seem to have a weak mentality at times also

Ryan is extremely streaky. I'd wait for him to hit UFA.

NBC does it again,

PK wants $65M-$70M in an eight year MAX contract

PK Subban is seeking an eight-year contract worth $ 65 to $ 70 million, according to what Sportsnet reported Wednesday.

The TVA Sports had reported on Monday that the Montreal Canadiens began negotiations with the defender, last recipient of the Norris Trophy.

Subban passes the final year of a two-year contract worth an average of $ 2.875 million per season.

$8.125M-$8.7.5M AAV

MTL could have had him for much less last season.

The "rivalry" angle is so forced. 1 playoff series in 1997 (and it was a sweep) is a rivalry now. All that bad blood and hatred is about to boil over. Can Claude Giroux and company avenge the Flyers' loss in the Stanley Cup Finals 17 years ago? Stick around to find out! Even using the excuse that they're conference rivals now that Detroit is in the east is weak.

The only rivalry between the Flyers and Red Wings is that non-hockey fans confuse the two.

"Oh, you like the Flyers?" :: wearing Red Wings jersey ::

Brian Gionta burns the Devils.

Chico *****ing about no puck luck.

This is fun.
