Just means he isn't working out for the Devils... he could've went to Avs and be on pace for 40. Nobody believes Timo Meier just forgot how to play hockey or was being carried by someone on SJ. This looks like the exception not the norm

Finished Episode 2 of 6 of the Borje Salming tonight, pacing is fairly slow, I expect it will ramp up though with this episode ending with him signing the Leafs contract and flying to Toronto.

Who cares how he would look on the Avs? The question is would be look a ton better in Buffalo? Given how much the entire roster has regressed, I highly doubt that Meier would have been a guy that could have changed that trend. Given what he has done in NJ, it is way more likely that he would be yet another disappointment here than the answer.

Regardless of contract length/guarantees, I think it was a mistake to pay Meier like he was going to be a consistent PPG+ player going forward. He’s never put up those kind of numbers over a full season (though he was only 1 point shy of PPG in 21-22). He got paid like a superstar, but he’s never been that.
