Limiting blocked shots is so NHL... F'in disgrace if they go through with that. Let's add on another stupid penalty.

Limiting certain types of blocked shots would be interesting.

I think reducing goalie gear is a red herring. They've done it a few times already and the results haven't been there.

The problem there is that goalies are bigger, better coached, and more athletic than ever before. Shrinking the gear just makes them even more agile.

I was never a proponent of changing the net size. But that seems to be the easiest solution to increasing goals. As you mentioned goalies are bigger than ever and with their size alone take up a lot of net. Even when down In the butterfly. Just look at the size of goalies and their equipment back in the 80s when scoring was high. Then look at now. The amount of available space to shoot at is shrunk immensely. Increasing the size of the net would add more space to shoot at.

The stars of the late 70s and the 80s would be hard pressed to produce now like they did then. Bossy flying down the wing and cranking a shot just over the blueline would be hard pressed to score like he did back in his day.

Hamilton worth $6 million/season?

Yes. Dredger says he'll be looking for Doughty/Pietrangeo money. Which would mean somewhere in the area of 7 million dollars. He could get offer sheeted and the Bruins would have tough time matching with Krejci, Bergeron, Chara, and Rask already making 6.8 million or more each.

So you think he's worth that much scratch?

I definitely would say he would be on my very limited list of RFA's I would throw an offersheet at and not regret it.

I used to be really against making the nets bigger, but I'd rather that than something even more stupid like limiting shot blocks.

As much as it's fun to rail on their attendance and all, after the Rigas fiasco I can't help but feel bad for the true fans no matter how few there are. To go through this whole ordeal again...

Glendale was a horrible idea from the very beginning. If the Coyotes had just stayed in downtown...maybe it could be salvaged (though no guarantees obviously).

Eh, maybe maybe not. Phoenix is a weird city. The city is where all the older people are and it's pretty quiet at night. People travel out to the suburbs (like Glendale) to go out at night. One of the strange's nightlife situations I've ever witnessed. So I get what they were trying to do.

I was there a couple months ago, right in the middle of downtown. I went for a walk at night and the place was completely dead and silent. It was really weird, I've never seen anything like that in a major city.

The nightlife is in the suburbs. I have friends that live in Pheonix. They live in the city because it's cheaper, and travel out to the burbs at night when they want to go out. Super weird.

I feel truly bad for the people who have supported the team. But, in the end, unsustainable is unsustainable. The team has been on life support for a while now and the city of glendale literally just pulled the cord.

I wouldn't just because what the compensation would be and giving that compensation to the Bruins. Plus we more in need of a LHD. I would love if someone would offer him though and pry him away from the B's.

The title a little misleading click-bait. They'll still get their pick, just not 2015. Probably a little bait and switch on the Leafs part to get permission to talk with Babcock.

Not true at all. It's the Leafs' option to decide which 3rd round pick they send to th Wings within the next three years.

Agreed. And they've never had even close to a good owner since the franchise moved there. Tough market to establish, bad decision for an arena location and no leadership from the top...
