Vancouver has been playing some great hockey lately. Super tenacious style. They have to be cuz they small as heyo.

With a Ducks regulation win tonight, they will be within striking distance of 3rd place in the Pacific.

Do you mean Canucks instead of Ducks?

It's very possible my calculations are wrong since math is not my strong suit but my count the Ducks could only get to 84 points if they win out their last 5 games

With a Ducks regulation win against LA and a VAN win tonight, the Canucks will be at 88 points, which is only 2 behind LA.

I made it sound like the Ducks were in that position. Oops.

Big blow. VAN lost in the SO and LAK won, so that puts VAN in a most difficult position.

Back end of a b2b tonight for them. Saw that they had won 6 straight before tonight, so they were a little due for an L.

The Kings chances are looking a lot better now that Vegas keeps fumbling the bag as well. Losing to NJ last night was terrible for them. 1-2-1 in their last 4.

VAN had lots of chances late, but couldn't finish. They can still squeak in if they get a little help and win the head-to-head with LAK to end the regular season.

Knights and Canucks are both dead in the water. Last night all but clinched for the Kings. It’s not mathematically over, but may as well be.
The field would appear to be set…now the division winners wait to find out if they’re playing the Stars or the Preds.

Neither of those teams are picnics…but I’d be a little more worried of Dallas if I were an Avs fan.

I mostly agree, but I have zero confidence in Dallas. That team doesn't play a lot of "win 2, lose 1" stretches of hockey. They are red hot or ice cold. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them drop 5 of the last 6 and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them win 5 of the last 6. I think they've banked enough points to hold of Vegas and Vancouver, but I wouldn't bet money I can't afford to lose on it. 5-6 remaining games is such a small sample size and Vegas/Vancouver both currently hold the RW tiebreak over the Stars. A 2 game cold streak can drastically swing these races in such a small sample, so I'd still have some nervousness if I were a Dallas fan.

We will see about Dallas. They're A LOT better at home than they are away posting a record of 24-10-3 and 19-19-2, respectively, and their last 4 games will be at home against Seattle, Vegas, Arizona, and Anaheim. If they can win 3 out of 4 those of those, then they might be able to lock a position in the wild card.

LA has 4 games left against Chicago, Anaheim, Seattle, and Vancouver. The Canucks may still be fighting for a playoff spot at that point, but winning the first 3 may every well seal that 3rd spot in the Pacific.

Nashville still has a very tough schedule ahead against Tampa, Minnesota, Calgary, Colorado, and Arizona. On the bright side, the playoff teams are pretty comfortable at that point and Arizona's season was over months ago so the Predators can will their way to a playoff spot despite their matchups because they don't really have a choice at this point.
