The Kings are losing 9-3.

They suck. Again, them getting into the playoffs is a cakewalk for whoever they play. At least Vegas would put up a fight.

Wild-Stars big game. Stars just tied it up.

Going to OT.

I forgot Dallas got Studenic from NJ. He's a good energy guy.

Wild controlled the OT early on, but they were clunky af and the Stars were doing a decent job of being in the way. Stars finally took control only to lose it cuz MAF assisted it up ice for the winning goal.

Duh!

Looking at that wrong.

VGK gets 3rd in Pacific and NSH & DAL get the two wild cards.
The one other scenario worth noting is that Edmonton is in the same ballpark points as the two wildcard teams. If one of Vancouver or Edmonton goes on a crazy run (wins out most likely), its conceivable that they could pass one or both of Vegas and Edmonton, pushing one of them into a wildcard comparison with Nashville and Dallas.

Its far-fetched, but it could make things very interesting.

Been watching Vancouver. They’re playing great right now, but they pretty much have to win out and have only one or two games left with teams just ahead of them. iirc

It would have to be a heroic run like the Blues did that one season where it was "impossible" for them to make the playoffs. I don't think Vancouver nor Winnipeg are likely to do that, but it would be fun to see the scenarios get even more crazy.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

VGK down 3-0 to the Oilers and Creampuff misses a Golden opportunity. Mike Smith was down and Pietro flips it high.

Oilers up 4-0, but the surprising thing is that McDavid & Draisaitl have combined for zero points. That's usually a recipe for a sure-fire loss. If the Oiler's depth steps up (RNH, Kane, Foegele, etc.) they might have a run in them in the Pacific.

Foegele’s goal was super slick.

With Vegas losing today, Dallas is currently up 1-0 on the Sharks and have a good chance to pull ahead of VGK by 4 points tonight, their schedule gets a little rough after today with a visit to each of the Canucks, Oilers, and Flames. But after they close out the season with Seattle, Vegas, Arizona, and Anaheim.

Edit: Also Colorado just doesn't seem to lose ever. They've gone 9-0-1 with an 8 game winning streak same as we have in their last 10. Imagine how things could look if they hit a rough patch ever earlier in the season.

They took too long to fire Green. I predicted they’d be at worst a bubble team this year. Just too much talent on that squad to be as bad as they were under him.

They did. They started the year 4-5-1 and they had a 1-3-1 stretch at the start of March. They had those couple rough patches, but they righted the ship after each and just dominated outside of those 2 stretches (50-6-4 excluding those two stretches).

They are a really, really good team. Their 55 wins is currently tied for the 4th most in the cap era and they've got 7 games left. Two more wins will jump them into sole possession of 2nd on that list. They have to win-out to tie the 2019 Bolts for 1st (which would put them 2 points higher than the Bolts' 128 point finish).

Incredibly, Florida is right on their heels for the President's Trophy. We've only had 3 teams hit the 120 point mark in the cap era and we are very likely going to see two teams do it this season (Colorado needs 4 points in 7 games and Florida needs 6 points in 7 games). I think we'll see both teams push hard to finish 1st. They have combined for just 10 regulation home losses this season. They are two time zones apart with polar opposite climates (hot, humid and at sea level vs cool, dry and a mile up in elevation). If they meet in the Final, home ice is absolutely huge and I have to think both teams will value locking in that advantage over resting players down the stretch. It is nice to see a President's Trophy race of this caliber this late in the year. The 2019 Lightning clinched the President's Trophy in game #73 and then had 9 games of fully meaningless hockey. That sucks for fans.
