The difference is Leaf’s fired their coach while the Jets kept Maurice 3 years too long.Literally makes me ill to see Leafs doing well and the Jets window seemingly looking decimated. I am probably gonna have to take a break from this board and hockey in general while that Leaves team is doing well in the playoffs.
More like three or four steps behind. That was a pitiful display. Credit to Toronto, they came out and played.Man, the Bolts were a step behind the play all night. That 5 minute PP was an absolute shit show. Completely disjointed all night.
Felt the Laffs might have poked the bear a bit near the end though. Have a feeling Tampa will have a response in game2.

I thought that Talbot deserved the start but they traded for MAF and being shut out at home hurts, expect Talbot in for game 2. Boston should go with Swayman, and the Oilers might go with KoskinenThey got Husso-ed. Also the decision to start MAF was not the best.

Modern NHL coaching has moved away from loading up the top 6, they spread the talent across all 4 lines. Hopefully whoever the Jets hire will do the same.Caught a little of 3 of the 4 games.
The Leafs looked good. Played fast and were on pucks. True, the Bolts played absolutely terrible too. I thought the Canes also looked good. Similar to the Leafs, faster on pucks and had a great forecheck. Only caught a little of the Kings / Oilers but the Oilers still seem like a 2 man team. Shut those guys down and you're good.
It's a little comical comparing the makeup of the lines though when you compare the Jets to some of these playoff teams. I don't see other teams setup with 2 scoring lines, a no offense checking 3rd line and a 4th line of trash. The Canes have KK and Necas on their 4th line for pete's sake.
Hopefully. Some of us have been wanting it for years.Modern NHL coaching has moved away from loading up the top 6, they spread the talent across all 4 lines. Hopefully whoever the Jets hire will do the same.
I guess Todd McClellan is a decent coach? Sask boy, worked his way up after a brief NHL career, player coach for a while in Europe.I have seen exactly three Kings games this year: when they were here in Winnipeg, at the Staples center/crypto.com against the Blackhawks (gorgeous facility), and last night against the Oilers. Not sure if it is atypical of their usual play or not, but I was impressed in all three games with how hard that team works from the top of the roster to the bottom. Some of the floaters on the Jets would stick out like a sore thumb on that team.
HF peeps, tell me who to hate. The Blues or Minny. I’m undecided.

Speed is a huge advantage on the PK. It allows guys to move around and get into shooting/pass lanes as well as makes the teams more hesitant to take risks because of the threat of shorthanded breakaways. When Michael Grabner was at the top of his game, he was a dangerous player on the PK just because of his speed. The other thing I noticed in the Leafs/Bolts and Canes/Bruins game is it seems like these teams are using skill guys on the PK. We've used Connor, but it seems like it's been hard for our coaches to move away from 4th line plugs being the primary PK players.
I think the Leafs had Marner, and I think I saw Aho on the PK as well. I'd love to see Connor, as well as Ehlers on the PK. Use their speed.
Love to get away from our poor bottom 6 strategy as well as getting more skill guys on the PK (when applicable).
