I think it's amazing. The number of Edmonton fans who seem to be really stoked about adding Barrie, Ennis, Turris is really bizarre. I mean, those are fine depth guys and are all reasonably cheap deals, but it doesn't solve Edmonton's biggest problems. You can't play McDrai 23 minutes a night each a full season AND give them all the hard matchups. None of the guys they've brought in can reliably eat minutes. I don't understand wtf they are doing at all.

Turris, Ennis and Barrie are a net negative to a roster like that. Honestly. They’ve become even more poorly constructed for postseason success.

I don't understand how an ownership group can be okay with pissing away the peak years of their franchise players. I really, really don't get it. I would be sooo pissed if I was an Edmonton fan, but they seem to be happy with Barrier, Ennis, Turris. Those are fine depth guys on good value contracts, but they don't fix the problem of having to give McDrai all the heavy minutes and just hold on the rest of the game. Get a Johan Larsson and let HIS line eat hard minutes. Let McDrai feast on whoever.

I'm just saying that's what Edmonton should be doing. They should be looking for a line that can hold it's own so McDavid and Draisaitl aren't asked to play 19+ minutes a night each.

Edmonton is worse. They have what should be a competitive team with two glaring holes and they didn't do anything to plug them.
Vancouver can tread water for a year. It's certainly not what I would do, but noone is going to look at Vancouver and say, "Why are they wasting year seven of McDavid?!"

Edmonton should have been talking to Pieterangelo while also talking to teams about Neal. They should have done whatever possible to make that happen.

Now they have a year or two of telling McDavid, "just wait for Bouchard and Broberg!". If those guys don't pan out, I don't see how he doesn't ask for a trade.

It’s a great contract but the worst possible fit/solution for Edmonton. He helps them NOT AT ALL.

Great fit for Barrie though, he is going to accumulate points on that PP and some fool is going to give him a nice contract next summer. Nicely played.

Totally agree. Meant to mention that. He’s smart to have taken less money to go there. He can rebuild his rep.

Add Fast to the list with Eakin as guys that I would have loved to add, but why add them for 2M+ when Larsson went for 1.4M?

Eakin has been a dumpster fire lately. I'm happy to have missed that boat.

Fast has consistently been good. Like one of the best defensive wingers in the league good. But he refuses to shoot the puck. He's like an inverted Schmaltz. Still, great deal.

If they are going to park Hayton I wouldn't be opposed to a flyer on Brassard.
