Otter looks like the greatest goalie in the world against us, unbeatable and Oilers just have their way with him. Did we just have really bad puck luck (which it did seem like at times) or are Oilers just that much better than us?

We just couldn't score especially away and the Oilers can, their depth finds a way and ours didn't, and yes they have two of the best players in the world and we didn't.

The Oilers are definitely getting some puck luck, but they are also dominant in terms of chance generation. They're also fast and forecheck and generally pressure the puck all over the ice. Sticks in lanes, tight gaps everywhere, fighting for every puck. The Jets were a lot more tentative about it in the playoffs.

Overall, I think we could have put up a good fight against the Oilers, but I think they would have beat us too. They have two of the best forwards in the game, and their depth is actually scoring.

Hard to imagine us shutting down McDrai with a limping Lowry and questionable production elsewhere.

What’s wild is how bad they looked at times in reg season

But they just “get it” and can turn it on

Without JOMO we’d have no chance.

Another discussion, look how fast they pulled Oettinger, two goals that weren't even his fault. Makes you wonder what would have happened had we done that during some of those away games.
I appreciate Deboer’s candour during press conference even if Ottinger won’t. After consecutive playoffs against Edmonton and losing 6 of 7, something had to change cause he wasn’t good enough. The sample size was big enough. I’m trying to paraphrase.

Interesting that the home team has lost the last 6 series now this playoffs. Perhaps being the home team isn't all its cracked up to be.

Yeah 7 games is a pretty huge sample, Pete.

Now let's talk about the even larger sample of Pete DeBoer absolutely blowing it in the playoffs with some of the most talented teams in the league. Prime San Jose, Vegas, and now Dallas... nobody's squandered more talent.
