That's the first thing I thought when I read thatYou remember when people wanted us to get Armia back?
Or maybe they shouldn't have given Nurse 9MSkinner shouldn't take all the blame, that team doesn't play defense. Maybe McJesus and Drai should have taken a little less money and the Oilers would have the cap room to add some solid 2 way players . You know like Scheifele and Helly did for Winnipeg. Again i couldn't be happier to watch the Oilers crash and burn.![]()
What about Mac Voisin of M&M Meat Shops. Pretty sure he remembers.
That Byfield goal was unbelievable, Nurse just played that so badly. As the kids say his controller broke.Or maybe they shouldn't have given Nurse 9M

Bet Chevy could figure out how to do it.Oilers have McDavid for 1 more year and then have a tough decision to make, give him what he wants or trade him away. Sure the cap is supposed to go up but will it be enough to build a complete team around him.
Myself as well. There are some on this board that just love to overspend assets just to make trades it seems. That's the first thing I thought when I read that
I kept thinking “wtf has become of Laine” while watching that game. He looks done. UnrealLaine's regression in full effect last night, he has no ice awareness and generally gets in the way most of the time. As for the pp he waits just inside circle waiting to unleash a shot that might hit the net but probably misses it.
Laine's last play as a Jet was a clever fake like he was going to pass behind his own net for the Jets to regroup in overtime. He fakes to go back, the opposition forward covering him bites, and he turns it up ice and scores the OT winner. I think he was traded for PLD the next day. That was 4 years ago...I kept thinking “wtf has become of Laine” while watching that game. He looks done. Unreal
They made trade of the century for Ekholm. He was the Glue that held the whole backend together. Probably a bigger injury than losing the German or McDavid.Skinner shouldn't take all the blame, that team doesn't play defense. He has been completely unplayable 5v5 since 2019. In the past 7 seasons he has finished with a higher xGF% than 43% ONCE (in 55 games).Laine's last play as a Jet was a clever fake like he was going to pass behind his own net for the Jets to regroup in overtime. I don't know what happened to him, if anything - he was prone to strange funks, crises of confidence, back then as well. It's a shame.
To be fair, Washington looks great too.
He has nobody to blame but himself, to be in the best league in the world you have to continually work on your game as opposed to having things handed to you. What could of been if he would of applied himself in the off season.
Me every time i think about Nurse's contract:Or maybe they shouldn't have given Nurse 9M

I see HF Oilers is ready to string Stu Skinner up by his knackers. Don’t blame them as provides about the polar opposite to clutch goaltending.
At this point he's just a one trick pony PP specialist. He's just too much of a defensive liability turnover machine 5 on 5.I kept thinking “wtf has become of Laine” while watching that game. He looks done. Unreal
Wonder what could have been if the Avs kept Kadri. He seemed like a good fit. Did he just leave for money or was traded?!Seems Avs fans aren't too thrilled about the Nelson trade at this point.
It seems like year after year notable trade target 'X' gets picked up by a contending team at the TD only to underperform. I am certainly glad Chevy did not sell the farm not only to have that happen, but to unbalance team chemistry as a whole.Seems Avs fans aren't too thrilled about the Nelson trade at this point.
You remember everyone absolutely shitting on Wheeler and Scheifele for running him out of town? Maybe they had a point about him not giving enough shits.Laine's last play as a Jet was a clever fake like he was going to pass behind his own net for the Jets to regroup in overtime. Kadri got the bag. $7M per year for a while. No way they could keep him.Wonder what could have been if the Avs kept Kadri. He seemed like a good fit. Did he just leave for money or was traded?!
Yeah, I liked Nelson as a target, but I did not like him at the equivalent of a 1st plus Yager. It seems like year after year notable trade target 'X' gets picked up by a contending team at the TD only to underperform. I've been saying this for several years. Hockey is a team sport first, and in the salary cap era, it's almost impossible for a team with superstars to win the Cup, because the superstars take up too much of the cap. Combine that with management that has been incompetent more often than not for the past couple of decades, and you've got the Oilers.Skinner shouldn't take all the blame, that team doesn't play defense. Maybe McJesus and Drai should have taken a little less money and the Oilers would have the cap room to add some solid 2 way players . You know like Scheifele and Helly did for Winnipeg.
