PLANE TEAM GOOD
Brock Nelson isn't doing a hell of a lot so far. Imagine giving up your best prospect to become a juggernaut, and you still can't get ahead of a Dallas team that is missing their most important player..
Rantanen also. Yet another reminder that the TDL big trades often don't pan out.Brock Nelson isn't doing a hell of a lot so far. Imagine giving up your best prospect to become a juggernaut, and you still can't get ahead of a Dallas team that is missing their most important player..
Make it SO (shutout)?Maybe he meant Jean-Luc Pickard?

How we polished that turd into Volare, AI and Kupari is beyond me.They have a few issues. Not piling on Laine but back checking in the playoffs is sorta important rather than taking a skate behind the net. His attention to any defensive detail has never quite clicked with him.
I thought we struck out at the TDL?Rantanen also. Yet another reminder that the TDL big trades often don't pan out.
If they had beaten the Kings even once I might be more confident. Add in the Ehlers injury that nobody truly knows the severity of if he’ll even be available by then and it’s not ideal. Despite Ehlers playoffs struggles, his speed is a constant threat out there. How might this injury effect that if he returns is another question. You need to get some confidence in the best team in the NHL , the Winnipeg Jets.
Nate McKinnon, Toews and Makar trio had been out for the whole 4 minute PP had like 1 shift off and then were back out for the 5v5 shift again on which they got scored on, wonder if the energy level had something to do with that OT goal.
Hat tip to Stars, I expected a beatdown with their injuries but they are not just hanging on but also looking they are matching the Avs.
I thought avs were the better team last night. They completely controlled play, Dallas countrrstrikedonce and it was in the back of the net.I think because of how the Avs embarrassed us in the playoffs and the fact they have two amazing superstars we tend to hold them in slightly higher regard that they deserve. Dallas has been a better team than the Avs and amassed more points even without Heiskenan for a good portion of the season. Avs are solid but they have holes too and Dallas even banged up is their pier as far as team vs team.
When Dallas plays their game they do just fine. This is coming down to a coin toss type margin.
If we still had Laine we wouldn't have Vilardi , Iafallo , Kupari and probably wouldn't be in the playoffs right now. Trading Laine absolutely changed this franchise.Laine's regression in full effect last night, he has no ice awareness and generally gets in the way most of the time. As for the pp he waits just inside circle waiting to unleash a shot that might hit the net but probably misses it.
He has nobody to blame but himself, to be in the best league in the world you have to continually work on your game as opposed to having things handed to you. What could of been if he would of applied himself in the off season. If you told me Laine turned into what he turned into after his 44 goal 19 year old season, I would have called you f***ing nuts. So disappointing to see what he became. It was so fun there for a couple years and you thought he would have grew but he's only got worse.
You remember when people wanted us to get Armia back? That's a tough way to FINNISH the game

Skinner shouldn't take all the blame, that team doesn't play defense. Maybe McJesus and Drai should have taken a little less money and the Oilers would have the cap room to add some solid 2 way players . You know like Scheifele and Helly did for Winnipeg. Again i couldn't be happier to watch the Oilers crash and burn.I see HF Oilers is ready to string Stu Skinner up by his knackers. Don’t blame them as provides about the polar opposite to clutch goaltending.
Yeah, it's a real shame on a number of levels. He was a preternaturally gifted scorer, but that covered up aspects of his game and character that were not NHL-worthy. That proved his undoing in the end.If you told me Laine turned into what he turned into after his 44 goal 19 year old season, I would have called you f***ing nuts. Oilers gave up 12 goals in two losses. You love to see it.
