Around the NHL 2024 25

Is it worth creating 8 different threads for each of the playoff series? Kings/oil is going to be epic.
I’m expecting the Kings to win that series, but as much as I DESPISE the Oilers part of me wants them to win because I believe the Jets could beat Edmonton and I am far less confident they could eliminate the Kings.

Hakan Loob?
Damn my eyes, thats the best name in Hockey.

Other than Miroslav Satan.

I look around the league and I think the Kings are the team to beat. Watching them play, not only against the Jets but against others, their system is extremely sound. They lack the scoring punch Winnipeg has, but in my view LAK is the biggest threat to the Jets

Something very interesting about LA...

Home: 31-5-4
Away: 17-19-5

Not sure how to account for that, but it's too much of a swing to be random. I think part of it is them getting teams on the "west coast swing", scoring early and locking it down. A 7:00pm start in LA is 11:00pm eastern time... I'm curious how their home records breaks down by conference. Games on the west coast wouldn't be wrapping up until 2:00am eastern

The other possible explanation is that their success relies largely on them getting the matchups they want

Either way, anyone ahead of them in the standings could have a huge advantage.. not to mention that they'd have to make it to the finals to even play vs an eastern team

Beyak should have done this to sawyer

I stand corrected, but my point remains the same

I confused Eastern with Atlantic
That is a good point just look when the Leafs played LA. The game starting time was changed to 4:00 pacific time and the Leafs won.
Players have a routine on game day meals and a sleep before a game and that is changed when you move a game 3 hours forward or back.
Even McDavid mentioned it when the Oilers had to change the starting time by 2 hours for the Leafs and of course the leafs won that game too.
