No, not important at all.
It just doesn't matter at all to me one way or the other.
Not many President's trophy winners go on to win the cup.
Not many NHL teams go on to win the cup.

Correlation doesn't equal causation.

Winning the Presidents Cup would be the greatest single achievement that any incarnation of the Jets NHL run has ever done. I said in the past I probably will never see the Jets win the Cup in whatever time I have left just too many factors that go against us and I'm okay with that. Just having a competitive professional team to get me through the winter is good enough for me. Plus I'd probably drop dead if they ever did manage to win the SC
This is it. Obviously winning the cup >>> Presidents trophy BUT both are an incredible accomplishment and at this moment, the latter is more attainable than the former. Lets get the trophy, and THEN the Cup!

That would make this team one of the NHL's all time best. Maybe not in pure talent, but statistically and in accomplishment.

Wild-wpg series would be dope.
Worked out well last time! But the Wild have to have a pretty big drop-off to fall down to 2nd Wild Card. It looks doable, until you remember that there's a reason why the Canucks and Flames are pacing for just over 90 points and have a sizable negative goal differential.

If and when the Jets organization reclaims the historical annals that left for Arizona and are now in limbo with that team’s fresh start in Utah, the current baseline for Jets milestones does include the Atlanta Thrashers.

And while we understand there is a strong play being made to the NHL by the Winnipeg Jets to retrieve the old Jets records, until that is accomplished, the NHL will continue to officially work off of the team’s records that include its days in Georgia.

Heck the GTA would Commission Crayola for an Auston Matthew’s coloured Crayon. It would be a hazy shade of Brown.
Imagine all the threads there would be on the mains about the Leafs if they were doing what the Jets are ? Not one single thread about the Winnipeg Jets on there right now, that might change after tonight. :naughty:

Let me know when you execute that one?
I’ll keep at the top of the list!

I wonder how they’ll do in the post season this year. Or did their bowman hiring bring too much bad hockey juju?
Goaltending and defense. The Oilers need both. Skinner is the opposite of Helly, a big goalie who flounders.

On the other side of the standings, I wonder where Keller-Cooley-Schmaltz rank among line combinations this year. Those guys are doing some unreal things to keep the No Names in the playoff race. A 1st round series with Utah would be a battle.

Dach done again for the season. The guy juat can't stay healthy.

Can't see anyone giving up much of anything for him.
Without looking up their specific injuries, his luck has been similar to Vilardi's to start his career (but worse)

Vilardi scored at 0.57 points per game before this season (which has been a break out)

Dach has scored at 0.44 points per game

I'd definitely take a flyer on the guy in case he can get/stay healthy a la Gabe, but I wouldn't be willing to put anything significant on the table
