Overly dramatic to say perhaps, but wow is Laine ever Mr. Pathos of the NHL.

Its real I think. Notably, both PLD and Laine (same draft) are players whose performance may depend upon (relative) readiness, preparation of attitude, approach, and other factors that stray into the realm of intangibles.

Psychologically prepped vs physiologically prepped - most players require both, some like Laine may need more of the former - and then there are those freaks who simply perform. In this case I recall Paul Maurice mentioning that Buff was a player with it all - he could step into his equipment with almost no training and just kill it.

I was (once, maaaaany moons ago) a swimmer, and trained with a guy that I would call a freak. Even when he was totally hung over for morning practice, he could slay at distance or sprint sets.

What did he say 16 hours was the longest consecutive video game session he had during the hockey season.

Maybe he will be inspired like Buff to just walk away from the game.

He seemed pretty impressed by Buff's move in his interview on Spittin Chicklets.

Just seems like the untreated ocd/adhd that all superstars have... just misdirected

I have no problem with his honesty

It's the hypocrisy

Call out your teammates like that in CBJ and then go to MTL and pull the exact same shit yourself that you called them out on

Some Jets fans just have a soft spot for the guy, even if our heads know it’s the wrong decision.

I think Ehlers would be happy, but I think he would tank the team vibes.

Speaking of…..anyone expecting an out of the dark Blake wheeler signing at the deadline? 850k?
