I just imagine the chant - Go Hockey Club Go - or maybe just Go Hockey Go for short. About as good as Go My Guys Go.
Every cities basic chant always revolves around the syllables in either the name of the city or it's nickname. For instance the "Go Jets Go" chant is entirely based on the Jets being a one syllable name & other one syllable teams use the same chant.

The Oilers on the other hand are "Let's Go Oilers" (followed a 1/4-1/4-1/8-1/8-1/8-1/8 clapping pattern)"

You'd never hear the Jets fans doing this as the rhythm and lyrics don't jive.

Utah could easily follow a 4/4 time signature saying "Utah" (as the first 2 quarter notes) & then clapping on the back 2 quarter notes or simply falling into the same chant pattern as the Oilers, substituting "Oilers" for "Utah"...ex) "Let's Go Utah"

There's a few dozen simple cheers that Winnipeg could be doing rather than the totally overdone "Go Jets Go", in fact in the 1.0 days there was always some variety based off the organ player, or canned organ player. 2.0 has never gotten on board any other chant.

Hartman has been suspended 4 times in his career, I think the league has to think long and hard this time. 10 games

I remember the complaining - but I think most of it was based on perimeter passing and very little movement

Slow perimeter passing.

Our two PP units have COMPLETELY different styles. I credit that to the coach but if you think the Perfetti unit is running the movement and 'two bumper' system of the PP1.. then we are watching different games.

PP2 is a lot more static and a lot more based on crashing the net and getting shots/deflections. PP1 is about revolving roles so the PK cant decide who's bumper, etc... maybe someone can argue that its not solely because of Ehlers - but his system doesn't work without a player like Ehlers.

He has designed the 2 PP units to suit the players.

What was truly surprising is that Hamonic got fined $5,000 for “refusing to justify Hartman’s contract” after Bieksa called up Player Safety. :sarcasm:

Of course they have different styles. That is good coaching. You design systems that play to the players strengths and then get them to buy in and perfect.

Or they just finally added Ehlers. Could be that.

They had Ehlers on the first pp unit for the first quarter of last year and he didn't fit all that well.

It's not just that he's there but that they tailored a role specifically for him which has allowed him to excel.

Yup, Pp 2 doesn't have near the skill level of pp 1 so it would make little sense to have it play similarly. They don't have the talent to pull off what pp1 does. But they do have a big point shot and two good net front pieces. They also have a quality pp hb qb that can open that lane up.
